If you're ever in Tulsa, ask for directions to the minor league baseball stadium. The strip center across from the stadium is home to Don's, a real deal sausage house with a preponderance of tiger decorations and ktchotkes. Why? Go on in and ask Don how he's feeling. The likely response? "Like a tigah!" You'll know Don 'cause he's one of the two people behind the counter. The other is the same young woman that has been there during each of my visits over the last decade. Made on the premises, Don's offers sausages, wursts and kielbasas for eat in or take out. If you can, get some take-out links; they taste great boiled in beer and finished on the grill. |
